May 12th and 14th, 2003

On the 12th I decided to see if my Trail T/A 235 75 R15s would fit the Eagle, they didn't - not even close, but they looked so sweet that I had to take a pic (two actually - the first two).

On the 14th I had the Tire Nazi hook me up on some decent used Goodyear Wrangler RTS 225 65 R15s. They fit pretty well with just a wee bit of rub on the right front. The right front is one of the tires in the worst condition, so for the time being I'm going to let it rub. Eventually I'm going to cut the rockers and flare out about 1/2" and weld the ends back on. It will look almost totally stock, but no rubs.. :) It's very hard to tell in the small pics, but the Wrangler's are raised outline letters too. They're just really dirty.

My Eagle now looks like I jacked a Jeep for it's rims and tires, as both are currently factory stock for several models. I left the Jeep center caps off for the time being because I'm in the process of coming up with some AMC scripts for them.

Between the tires with about 50% tread life left and the fairly decent condition rims, I've got $110 in it all (including mounting and balancing. $116 if you count the Gatorade). Not too bad considering the change in attitude that it gave the car. Plus the fact that it needed tires anyhow.

On the BFG. Sillin' swoll. Man I wish those fit. The Eagle looked like a monster on them. All 4 Wrangler's mounted on the Wrangler rims. I gained about 2" of ground height and the ability to throw mud all over hell's half acre.
The Eagle roof line is now taller than the bed of my stock suspension truck - success! It doesn't look nearly as pussified from the rear anymore. The car actually has a stance now. I love those rims and tires.. :)
