Well, I'm finally getting caught up on some of my picture taking. First of
all, a few weeks ago I bought all of the vacuum parts I was missing from my
Eagle's four wheel drive system, they have since been cleaned and painted (where
applicable).
Next, the problem with my clutch REFUSING to to work is that it was missing several
parts. The dealer was unable to order these parts, so Dad made a custom
ADJUSTABLE clutch linkage for me out of a piece of stainless bar stock.
And lastly, for this update, I have rebuilt one of the two GM HEI 6 cylinder
distributors that I plan to use to convert my Eagle over. The other I hope to
sell (after conversion) on Ebay and hopefully recover the cost of both of them,
thus creating a free distributor for myself.

| This is the clutch linkage, fully assembled. |
This is the piece of stainless car stock that Dad used to
create the piece at the end. |
The finalized piece at the end. Complete with grease zerk
and milled for a 3/4" wrench for easy adjustment. |

 |
| Dad drilled the inside of the part and tapped it with
threads. |
On the other end he drilled a very small hole so that grease
can be passed to the clutch fork. This is a MASSIVE design improvement
over AMC's original concept. |
Originally the clutch rod was not threaded. So Dad added
threads to it, this is how it is adjusted. |

Another angle. This thing looks great. |
This is the vacuum advance after a week in the parts bath, 4
minutes on the wire wheel, 3 coats of primer, and 3 coats of black engine
enamel. I wasn't very happy with the finish after I took this picture, so
an additional coat was added. The final product can be seen below. |
