These were taken on September 8th, 2002. (Work circa March 2002)

Very short update this time. This the the custom clutch master cylinder reservoir I made make in the spring. I never got around to taking pictures of it before (and the hood is back on now, which limits the total effect of being able to see it go into the cylinder) so here ya go. You may recall from earlier album updates that I broke the stupid little pipe that AMC put on the car off. It was no big deal since I hated it anyhow. I firmly believe my design is vastly superior.

The plastic reservoir came off of a donor early 80s S-10. The hose came off of a donor early 80s Ford Ranger. I bought 2 reservoirs while I was there. It's not that I'm so cheap I won't buy new hose. :)

I used a double flaring kit to put a nice factory looking flair on the steel line so the hose will stay on nice and tight.

The steel line is galvanized NAPA brake line. Since the clutch uses brake fluid this should hold up just fine. It took FOREVER to get it bent around properly, even with the neat little $7 NAPA tubing bender.

Also shown - The brake master cylinder hanging out in the breeze.

The fire wall part where it goes around the shock tower and down into the cylinder. Tricky bends. I highly recommend this "mod" to anyone with the goofy tube.

My pipe also goes down hill the entire way to help minimize the chance of getting an air lock in the tube. Like I said, lots of tweaking. I think I spent about 3 hours on this.
